The Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council (ARCD.org) seeks a Programs & Operations Assistant to support delivery of excellent programming while maintaining high standards of financial accountability to our funders and community. ARCD is a 32-year old non-profit corporation that promotes a thriving local farm and food scene in Northeast Tennessee while protecting the scenic, natural and cultural resources that make this region so special. This Assistant position will work across 3 core programs: 1) Agricultural Enterprise; 2) Farmland Conservation; and 3) Nutrition & Food Access for All. Â
This job requires a person who has a flexible mindset, positive can-do attitude, initiative to act and problem solve, communication skills and relational competence. They will support ARCD Program Directors with a variety of public-facing projects and workshops, and also shift gears to assist the Grants & Finance Manager with back-office expense tracking and grant management.Â

As a general rule, though it will vary from season to season, program support may consume ~65% of work hours and finance support will require ~35% of work. Regular work activities will include:Â
Salary range is $34,000 – $39,500 annually based on Qualifications, for a typical 35 hour work week with 13 Holidays and 168 hours of paid time off. Benefits include a matching 401k, FSA, short and long-term disability, dental, vision and life insurance.
