Connecting people with local Farms

Community Supported Agriculture

What is CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an agriculture system that connects producers and consumers within the food system more closely by allowing the consumer to subscribe to the harvest of a farm. Though there are many different modern methods of implementing CSA including no-committment or a la carte purchases, traditionally, farms sell a share of their harvest at the beginning of the season. This means the farm is able to invest in their farm up front which lightens the financial burden of running a farm. Subscribing to a tradional CSA also ensures the consumer will have access to a portion of the farms harvest every week of the season making it easier to eat healthy, locally grown food! CSA also creates a close relationship between producer and consumer allowing consumers to be more aware of what goes into growing their food. Community Supported Agriculture creates a healthy local food system with engaged consumers and flourishing producers. CSA is excellent for local economies as well as public health!
