6 Days A Week

Did you know that in peak summer season you will be able to find local food from farmers markets 6 days of the week, Monday through Saturday?  Our Farmers Market locator has current details, as far as we know, about opening days, days/hours, locations, EBT-SNAP and Farmacy Fit.

Many Farmers Market participate in the EBT-SNAP program and Double Up Food Bucks

Use your EBT-SNAP card at the Farmers Market (see Welcome Booth) and DOUBLE your SNAP dollars up to $20! You’ll receive tokens to redeem for produce (vegetables, mushrooms, sprouts, fruits). Farmers Markets often have community groups offering fun tastings and activities for kids as well.  Last year in our region, Double Up Food Bucks were redeemed in the amount of $7,864 – and all on fresh fruits and veggies!  Double Up Food Bucks is available thanks to a grant from the TN Department of Health Project Diabetes.

Farmacy Fit Walking Programs are back and at more locations!

Head to one of the farmers markets above, the earlier in the morning the better! The Welcome Booth can get you walking your mile, and all walkers age 5 and up receive $3 to spend on produce from from any produce vendor at the market. For those who can’t walk we have exercise bands for chair-based exercising! We are thrilled to be able to expand this beloved program to new Markets this year. In 2023, Farmacy Fit attracted 6,376 walking trips, and an extra $19,000 for fresh produce vendors!
