Farm Profile: Jordan Farms

finding peace & passion in agriculture

This is a special profile of a farm in Middle Tennessee, 20 minutes west of Clarksville to be more exact. Jordan Farms is operated by Charley Jordan, AgVets (Agriculture & Veterans) Coordinator for Middle Tennessee. After retiring and starting his farm, Charley has stayed dedicated to helping other veterans find their peace and passion in agriculture. If you are a Veteran near Clarksville interested in a farm mentorship program, reach out to Charley (charley@agvols.org). If you are in East TN, reach out to Sarah M: sarah@agvols.org.

At Jordan Farms in Woodlawn, TN, founder Charley Jordan has cultivated more than flowers, he has built a mission-driven enterprise rooted in service, resilience, and community.

After a distinguished 28-year career in the U.S. Army as a Special Operations Aviator, Charley transitioned from military life to agriculture, seeking a new way to serve and reconnect with the land.

What began as a personal journey toward healing and purpose has grown into a thriving 5-acre operation that now includes both floriculture and beekeeping. Specializing in vibrant perennial and annual cut flowers while also managing apiaries, Jordan Farms practices the important relationship between pollinators and sustainable production.

As Charley reflects, “Find what you love in agriculture. You may not find it right away. I know I didn’t.”

That philosophy shapes the farm’s mission: to create opportunities for veterans to explore agriculture, discover their own path, and build meaningful post-service careers.

Jordan is an active advocate and mentor, working closely with UT Extension, UT’s Agribility, and ARCD to expand access to training, technical assistance, and community for veteran farmers across the region. Through this partnership, Jordan Farms contributes to a broader effort focused on sustainable agriculture, farmland preservation, and farmer resilience in East Tennessee.

Community members can support Jordan Farms by purchasing fresh-cut flowers and honey products at local farmers markets, attending on-farm events, or following along and ordering through social media and online platforms.  The farm offers agritourism experiences, from photography sessions among blooming fields to “Pick Your Own” flower events, creating welcoming spaces for both veterans and the public. https://www.jordanfarmstn.com/

Every purchase supports not only a local farm, but also a powerful mission of service, healing, and opportunity for those who have served our country.
