Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council Welcomes Kayla Tucker as Marketing and Communications Director
Tucker Brings a Wide Range of Marketing Experience and a Passion for Supporting Local Agriculture and Sustainable Farming
JOHNSON CITY, TN, October, 22 — Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council welcomes Kayla Tucker as Marketing and Communications Director.
Tucker will be responsible for planning and coordinating all marketing activities as well as fielding public and media relations for ARC&D. She is a native of the Tri-Cities, and an alum of East Tennessee State University where she studied marketing.
Most recently Tucker worked for The Biltmore Company in Asheville, NC, as Marketing Project Coordinator where she was responsible for coordinating marketing deliverables for Biltmore’s lodging, group sales, weddings, catering, and landscaping departments.
Tucker has worked in the marketing industry since she obtained her degree in 2014. While studying at ETSU, Tucker held internships with two other area non-profit organizations: Engage Kingsport and AccelNow. She says those positions ignited a desire to help foster economic growth in the region. “I’m happy to be back in a position where I can have a tangible impact on our community. I strongly believe that ARC&D is instrumental to our region flourishing to its highest potential,” she said.
Tucker began work on October 8 and her primary focus is to increase awareness of programs and services offered by ARC&D in the six-county region they serve. “I’m thrilled to join this important organization, and look forward to meeting everyone involved with ARC&D.”
Susan McKinney, ARC&D’s Executive Director says, “Kayla has a strong background in marketing and communications as well as the desire to serve the community in a meaningful way. We are very pleased to have Kayla on the team. We’re getting ready to begin the fourth year of Field School, our beginning farmer and rancher program, so this a great time for her to join us.”
