Songwriter Contest

for the Farm Tour Weekend

 

Calling all songwriters local in northeast Tennessee (or within travel distance) who write and perform on the theme of “Love for the Land”.

 

Entries will be judged by a local panel.

 

Winner will be announced June 1, and will perform a 30-minute set as the opener on June 21 for the Farm Tour evening concert with The Barefoot Movement, Whispering Oaks Farm, Gray TN. The set should include songs on the Love For Land theme, but not all of the set is expected to be on that theme. Sound check 4:00pm, set at 6:00pm.

Winner can perform solo or with up to two more members (sound system constraints on June 21).

Winner will receive $200.

Winner and all finalists will have their video submissions highlighted in the monthly ARCD Food & Farm E-News, and spotlighted on socials, and be on the Farm Tour’s Spotify playlist.

 

Entries will be judged by a small panel and finalists and winner will be announced June 1. 

SUBMISSION:

Songwriters please submit 2 song video entries, ex. youtube links, to [andy@arcd.org] by Tuesday May 27. Songs should be about the theme Love For Land: agriculture, crops, plants, animals, conservation, forests, waterways, soil and earth, changing climate, weather, and/or specifics about a special love for a place on this Earth.  Submitting an entry means that you are able to play on June 21.

Entries should be from songwriters who either live in, or have close connections to, northeast Tennessee.

 Please include in your email a short bio about yourself, such as where you live, and the role of music in your life (like an artist statement).
