Though the majority of farmers markets end in September, many markets and farm stands in our region have winter hours, and some host special holiday craft fairs! Don’t worry – we did the digging for you! We’ve compiled a list of all the events and special hours in our region below.

Tennessee Markets
Kingsport Farmers Market
Market season is technically over, but the market allows vendors who still have product to sell to set up on Saturdays through November. The vendors will host their annual Christmas Craft Show on December 7, 2019.
Johnson County Farmers Market
Winter market hours are 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Johnson County Welcome Center & Museum which is located at 716 South Shady Street, Mountain City, TN. The winter market is held from November until April. Please note that EBT token redemption is not available at the winter market.
Jonesborough Farmers Market
Fall and holiday season markets will be held every Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM from November 2 – December 21 in front of Boone Street Market in Downtown Jonesborough. Boone Street Market also holds the same hours as they do year-round.
Mountain Home Farmers Market
Our region’s newest farmers market will continue on through the winter season on Thursdays from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Second Floor Atrium of Building 200 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Virginia Markets
Abingdon Farmers Market
The holiday market is every Saturday from November until Christmas from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at their regular location. The winter market will be held on the first and third Saturdays of January, February, and March from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Independence Farmers Market
The Independence Farmers Market holds two special winter market and craft fair events. On Green Friday, November 29, and Saturday, December 7. Both market events will be held from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, but some vendors will stay for the town’s festivities (including a parade and Santa visit) on December 7. The event on December 7 also includes a People’s Choice Chili Cookoff with a $100 first prize. It is free to enter, and $5 to sample all the chili and vote for your favorite.
Wytheville Farmers Market
Winter markets are held every second and fourth Saturday from November – April from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with Novebmer 23 and December 14 being special Christmas Markets.
Floyd Farmers Market
Floyd’s outside market continues through November at the Market Pavilion on Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Beginning December 21, the market will shift locations to the Floyd Center for the Arts, but the hours will remain the same.
