Thank you to everyone that came out to Kingsport for the Quilt Turning event.  The April 28th Quilt Turning event at First Broad Street Methodist Church in downtown Kingsport was a success.  This storytelling event featured the quilts behind the quilt barns of Sullivan County and the downtown quilt murals of Kingsport. Five quilt block owners joined us to tell the stories of seven quilts.  Quilt Turning events support the ARC&D’s most visible project, the Quilt Trail, a 12-year strong initiative enhancing rural economy through celebrating the Arts.  We were given the chance to view beautiful works of fine quilting , hear inspiring and sometimes amusing stories.  Inspiration, a wonderful lunch provided by the Kingsport quilt block owners, and camaraderie made for a truly good time!  If you missed this event, we will be hosting another Quilt Turning on July 20th, at the Farm House Gallery in Unicoi.  Stay tuned for more updates.

Sponsors of the day:  Heavenly Stitches Quilt Shop & First Frontier Quilters Guild.
